Vin-Tana Solo Showdown

The Vin-Tana Solo Showdown (VTSS) was a double-elimination 2v2 osu! tournament hosted by vincent4399 and Katanax28. Players ranked between #50,000 and #200,000 were able to participate. It was the first instalment of the Vin-Tana Solo Showdown.

Ruleset

Overview

1. Vin-Tana Solo Showdown is an osu! 1v1 double-elimination tournament.
2. All matches will be played with Score V2 and NoFail mod on.
3. All matches will be played on Stable client or any later version that supports Score V2.

Registration

1. In order for their registration to count, participants must fill the player registration form before September 19th, 2021.
2. All participants must be ranked between #50,000 and #200,000 in osu! by the time registration ends.
3. Multiaccounting/cheating is prohibited.
4. Violation of registration rules will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament.
5. There is no limit to how many players can play in the tournament.
6. If a player's osu! rank goes beyond #50,000 or below #200,000, they will still be allowed to play in the tournament. A player's rank only matters during registration period until September 19th, 2021.
7. Tournament hosts hold the right to eject a player from the competition at their own discretion.

Competition format

Qualifiers

1. Between the given schedule, players in the competition will participate in a qualifiers match by playing all maps from the qualifiers mappoool.
2. Their score will be taken for each map and added up to give them a cumulative score which will be ranked in comparison to all other participating players.
3. The top 128 players with the highest cumulative score total will move onto the bracket stage.

Bracket

1. After qualifiers, the top 128 players from the qualifiers will be seeded 1:1.

   • For example, the 128th seed player will go against the 1st seed, 127th seed against 2nd seed, and so on.
2. If a player loses two matches, one in the winner's bracket and one in the loser's, they are eliminated from the tournament.

Winner's bracket

1. All players start in the winner's bracket from Round of 128 onwards until they lose a set, sending them down to the loser's bracket.
2. Only during Grand Finals if the player from the winner's bracket loses, then there will be a set reset.

Loser's bracket

1. After the first week of matches, the losers of Round of 128 will go against each other in the Round of 64 loser's bracket.
2. In Round of 32 onwards, players who start the round in the loser's bracket will play two matches per round.
3. The first match would be the player that won their last loser's match round against a player that lost their winner's bracket match last round.
4. The second match of the round would be two loser's bracket players that won their last round.
5. This will continue until Grand Finals where if the loser's bracket player win, there will be a set reset.

Win conditions and map bans

1. Round of 128 and Round of 64: Best-of-7 (first to 4 points) and 1 ban.
2. Round of 32: Best-of-9 (first to 5 points) and 1 ban.
3. Round of 16: Best-of-9 (first to 5 points) and 2 bans.
4. Quarterfinals and Semifinals: Best-of-11 (first to 6 points) and 2 bans.
5. Finals and Grand Finals: Best-of-13 (first to 7 points) and 2 bans.

Match procedures

Qualifiers

1. Players sign up for time slots to play in qualifiers lobbies.
2. Players may switch their qualifiers times whenever they want.
3. Players join the match and play the maps in the order:

   1. NM1
   2. NM2
   3. NM3
   4. NM4
   5. HD1
   6. HD2
   7. HR1
   8. HR2
   9. DT1
   10. DT2

Bracket

1. Players will automatically be filled into matches with the time based on the players' time zones.
2. Loser's bracket players after Round of 128 will have 3 matches scheduled for them. The two matches scheduled are potential matches assuming themselves and the respective player win their previous matches.
3. Both players may agree to reschedule their match up to a week from their original match date. They must post their agreement on the #reschedules text channel in the Discord server along with the respective format for rescheduling.
4. Loser's bracket players can also reschedule their potential loser's bracket matches as well.
5. Rescheduling is recommended to be done up to 1 day before the first match from their respective stage starts in order to ensure referees, commentators, and streamers know when the match will occur so they can perform their respective duties.
6. You will get a notification from your referee that your match is ready 10 - 15 minutes before the schedule. Once you are ready, please let them know, and they will invite you to the lobby.
7. If the referee assigned for the match isn't available or they don't show up, the match will be assigned to another referee. This will postpone the match by 15 minutes, and if there's still no referee by the given time, the match will be rescheduled.
8. Players must be in the lobby up to 15 minutes after the scheduled match time. If one player don't show up within that period of time, the player that showed up is given a win by default.
9. Warmup maps must be less than 4:00 long and may be in any star range. Don't pick inappropriate warmup maps. If there's an issue with the warmup map chosen, the referee must talk to the host and the player may be punished by the host's discretion.
10. After warmups, both players will do a !roll command.

    • The player with the higher roll either chooses to be the one who ban second and pick first, or vice versa.
    • The player with the lower roll will follow what's not chosen from player who rolled higher (e.g. if player with higher roll choose to ban first and pick second, then the player with lower roll will have to ban second and pick first).
11. Protect means that no player may ban that map during the bans. Ban means that no player may pick that map during the match.
12. Players may not double ban a mod (if player 1 already banned HD1, they can't ban HD2 with their second ban, however player 2 still can ban HD2). NM is the exception and may be double banned by the same player.
13. Once a player reached the required amount of wins, the match ends and the player who reached that amount is declared the winner.
14. The procedures for protects, bans, and picks are:

15. Before each map, every player has two minutes before the match is played unless both parties wish to play the map after agreed time.
16. All maps will be played with NoFail mod and Score V2 alongside the map's respective mods.
17. Hidden, HardRock, and DoubleTime maps will have their respective mods chosen by the referee.
18. When a FreeMod map is played, each player must pick at least one mod from the following: Easy, Hidden, HardRock, or Flashlight.

    • Easy receives a 1.75x modifier on top of the 0.5x score modifier, making it 0.875x total score.
19. In case of a tie in points (example: 4-4 in BO9) the tiebreaker is selected.

    • Players may pick any amount of the following mods: Easy, Hidden, HardRock, or Flashlight. However, it's not required, and they may play their tiebreaker with NoMod.
